Did you know tax depreciation advantages of Land Rover ownership really do add up?

Because Range Rover, Range Rover Sport and Discovery have gross vehicle weight ratings greater than 6,000 pounds, they qualify for an accelerated tax depreciation schedule.
They can be depreciated up to 60 percent in the first year, and fully depreciated in 6 years. That's a significant advantage compared to similarly priced luxury cars.
To support this message in market, Land Rover North America has announced the "Tax Advantage" customer and prospect campaign, with two direct mail options, as well as email follow ups.

Did you know the Range Rover Velar innovation story includes premium textile?

Screen Shot 2017-09-28 at 4.32.40 PM

Range Rover celebrates many firsts, one of which is the option of a contemporary and beautifully-crafted premium textile. Created by Kvadrat, it has been designed by craftspeople who truly understand the finest materials.

Exhibiting natural characteristics, this renewably-sourced rich wool yarn is extremely hardwearing, soft to touch and breathable, ensuring appropriateness in all temperatures. Its natural soil-resistant qualities ensure it will maintain its look and feel for many years.

If soiling does occur, natural water resistance means that spills can be dabbed off before staining occurs and a simple application of warm water and a soft sponge can be used for cleaning. Finally, it's worth noting that Kvadrat shares the JLR ethos of wanting to continually reduce the environmental impact manufacturing companies can have.

Did you know Jaguar Land Rover vehicles with diesel engines utilize Selective Catalytic Reduction to reduce exhaust emissions?

Screen Shot 2017-06-19 at 12.45.17 PM

Jaguar and Land Rover's latest diesel engines are among the cleanest in the world. Designed from the outset to be fully compliant with all federal and state emissions regulations, Jaguar Land Rover diesel engines incorporate several key technologies, including Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR). This exhaust after-treatment helps reduce emissions of Nitrogen Oxide (NOx), a gas that affects air quality.

The SCR system injects Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) into the exhaust where it mixes and passes through the SCR, converting NOx into harmless nitrogen gas.

Between 2004 and 2016, SCR technology has reduced average NOx emissions by more than 90 percent. So, Jaguar and Land Rover customers who choose a diesel engine vehicle can be assured they have a car that meets the latest technology standards for emissions.

Did you know Adaptive Cruise Control includes Queue Assist?

Screen Shot 2017-10-12 at 11.48.06 AM

Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles  offer the option of Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Queue Assist for enhanced active safety. Using a radar sensor ACC can detect vehicles ahead and  automatically adjust speed to maintain a safe driving distance.
Queue Assist is intended for use in lines of traffic on main roads, where minimal steering is required. If a vehicle ahead slows to a stop, Queue Assist brings the Jaguar or Land Rover to a stop and holds it stationary. As the vehicle ahead moves away, a brief press on the accelerator pedal resumes ACC operation.
If the driver wishes to use normal cruise control, by holding the gap decrease button for a few seconds the ACC feature will deactivate.
Customers should know that ACC is not a substitute for driving safely, with due care and attention.

Screen Shot 2017-10-12 at 11.48.18 AM

Many Jaguar and Land Rover models offer a powered Gesture Tailgate System, allowing the driver to open and close the tailgate by raising their foot to sensors located on either side of the rear bumper.

To operate, always stand in front and parallel to where the Gesture Tailgate module is located and perform a kick and return motion (of 1 - 2 sec.). The key should always be within 4 ft. of the Gesture Tailgate System.

The module location varies slightly from model to model, so it's important for customers to know how to operate this convenience feature on their specific Jaguar or Land Rover.

Did you know correct battery care during vehicle storage will increase the overall life of a battery?

Acr77228722062721182316

Batteries that are not maintained properly start a "sulfation" process internally which is not reversible and can reduce the life span of the battery. This shortened life span can result in a Jaguar or Land Rover Customer requiring Roadside Service and unscheduled Retailer visits. Vehicles in Retailer stock require 30-day checks and must be charged at 90-day intervals.
It is the Retailer's responsibility to ensure all of their vehicles in stock are maintained to Jaguar Land Rover standards.

Did you know Jaguar Land Rover continues to reduce emissions and meet all worldwide standards?

Screen Shot 2017-06-19 at 2.28.46 PM

Reducing exhaust emissions is one  of the biggest challenges for the  automotive industry. Since 2008  JLR has been investing in the development of ultra-clean gasoline and diesel engines. The result is our customers now have a choice of  vehicles with low emissions and world-class fuel economy.
This is part of a larger commitment by Jaguar Land Rover to implement a range of solutions aimed at reducing emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2), a gas that affects global warming. Here are a few of them:
- Jaguar Land Rover has invested over a billion dollars in cleaner engine technologies at its engine manufacturing center, in addition to further investment in electric and hybrid vehicles.
- Since 2005 Jaguar Land Rover has reduced average CO2 emissions at a greater rate than any other vehicle manufacturer.
- Jaguar Land Rover has developed diesel engines that typically emit up to 25% less CO2 than gasoline engines.
- In addition, JLR has reduced the weight of its cars by up to 40% by using lightweight aluminum and is on track to reach carbon neutral operations by 2020.

Did you know Traffic Sign Recognition with Adaptive Speed Limiter could save Jaguar and Land Rover drivers from a speeding ticket?

41hHsm6ZbFL._SL500_AC_SS350_
Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles equipped with Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR) have a forward facing stereo camera located behind the rearview mirror. The camera detects speed signs, no passing signs, and variable overhead speed signs.

The TSR system has three basic functions:
1. Speed limit detection: The instrument panel displays a corresponding sign.
2. Speed alert: When the vehicle's speed is greater than the detected speed limit, a warning is displayed.
3. No passing zone: When a DO NOT PASS sign is detected, the system also displays a corresponding sign in the instrument panel.

When TSR is used in conjunction with adaptive speed limiter, ASL will limit the speed of your vehicle based on road signage. For instance, when passing a speed limit sign that is higher than the vehicle's current speed, ASL will automatically apply a new maximum speed limit and reduce the acceleration of the vehicle.

TSR is a driving aid only and Jaguar and Land Rover drivers should observe all road markings.

Did you know many Land Rover vehicles do not have dipsticks for checking engine oil levels?

Screen Shot 2017-08-25 at 4.06.31 PM

Jaguar Land Rover recommends checking the engine oil weekly and never allowing the oil level to fall far below the lower mark on the oil level indicator. This is especially important if a customer plans to use the vehicle for performance driving. When handing over an F-TYPE or an SVR model the oil level check procedure should be pointed out. We don't want our customers to feel like a "dipstick" when they can't find one under the hood.

Before checking the engine oil level, owners should make sure that:
1. The vehicle is stationary and the Electric Parking Brake (EPB) is applied.
2. The vehicle is on level ground.
3. The engine oil has reached its normal working temperature (oil is hot).
4. The engine has been switched off for 10 minutes, for the oil level to stabilize.

The oil level can be checked as follows:
1. Switch on the ignition (do not start the engine)
2. Select Oil Level from the Vehicle Information menu
An indication of the oil level will be displayed and messages to the right of the indicator will advise of any action that may need to be taken.

Did you know Toll Tags must be positioned properly to operate?

Screen Shot 2016-09-06 at 4.48.23 PM

Many Jaguar Land Rover vehicles come with a Solar Attenuating glass windshield designed to filter sunlight through its special laminated (IRR) layer.
When using an electronic actuating card or device, such as toll tags or Radio Frequency ID Tags, they must be mounted at the dedicated locations on the inside of the windshield. If the electronic actuating card or device is located on any other part of the solar attenuating windshield, electronic scanners in toll plazas may not recognize them.

The proper mounting location may vary based on the make and model, and the  appropriate area may not be 100% clear glass as the cutout might be within the obscuration band. That's why owners need to become familiar with the proper placement for their specific Jaguar or Land Rover.

Did you know a motor vehicle is stolen in the United States every 45 seconds?

Acr100629053592961102521

That statistic is according to the FBI's  Uniform Crime Report. Fortunately Jaguar and Land Rover owners have the  advantage of Stolen Vehicle Locator, a standard feature included with InControl Remote and Protect. This feature allows the police department and our JLR Stolen Vehicle Center service provider to work together in the recovery of a stolen vehicle.

In order for this feature to be activated, it is critical that retail personnel set up their customers InControl Remote and Protect account at the time of delivery. If an owner finds their vehicle lost or stolen, they will need to contact the local police and obtain a police report. Once the report is filed, the Stolen Vehicle Monitoring center will work with police to help track and recover an owner's vehicle.

For our retailer partners, please make sure your loaner fleet is registered with an InControl account. Stolen Vehicle Locator can only be activated if a vehicle is registered; it CANNOT be retroactively set up.
